Summer Food with the YMCA

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18

Hey yโ€™all, Iโ€™ve been thinking a lot about how hard this summer will be for so many families now that Tennessee isnโ€™t doing the SUN Bucks program anymore (a federal program that provides meals for kids over the summer). Itโ€™s frustrating when people in charge make choices that hurt kids who just need food. Iโ€™ve had to remind myself that even when things feel unfair, God hasnโ€™t forgotten about us.

Thatโ€™s why itโ€™s so inspiring to see our local YMCA stepping up with free meals for families. Itโ€™s like Godโ€™s showing us He still provides, just in different ways. And it makes me wonderโ€ฆwhat if weโ€™re part of His plan too? Maybe we canโ€™t fix everything, but we can pray, share about the Yโ€™s program, or even help out if weโ€™re able.

This whole thing reminds me of the story where Jesus fed thousands with just a little boyโ€™s lunch. God can take our small efforts and make them matter way more than we think. So letโ€™s trust Him and look for ways to be part of the good Heโ€™s doing.

Prayer: God, thank You for always being with us, especially when life feels hard. Please take care of families who are struggling this summer. Help me to see where I can help, even in small ways. Amen.

There are 11 locations across Middle TN where the Y is handing out free food until the first week of August. Find the locations here.
